Hilton Head Island's Mascot ~~~Shadow the Dog

I wanted to send a Big Thank You to Deb @ Focused on the Magic, for this week's Blog Hop..

Shadow's Home here at Hilton Head!

She is so cute!!

Her little hide away.

She is a beautiful Golden Retriever

My Wordless Wednesday pictures are from my vacation this week. We have really enjoyed visiting Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort @ Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. We love this seaside, laid back DVC resort because there are a bunch of family activities here. From the un-birthday parties, BBQ's, kayaking, swimming and smores by the fire pit. This is the 3rd DVC resort;  it opened in March of 1996.

One great benefit to being out in the country, is getting to know the resort's mascot, a dog named Shadow. A little more about Shadow, not only is she the mascot at the resort, she lives here too. Her handler takes her for walks around the resort and the guests are allowed to follow along. They pet and give her lots of love while he tells stories of the culture here in South Carolina.  As far as I know Shadow is the only Disney resort live-in mascot.

Thanks for stopping by :-), Hope you enjoyed getting to know Shadow, she is so sweet and it's one of the reasons our family loves to come back to Disney's Hilton Head resort. If you have any questions about Shadow, just let me know..

Quest for Disney Vinylmation

My quest for Vinylmation Disney figures has taken me all over recently. Even though I am on vacation this week Disney is always in the back of my mind. I am the obsessive type when I love something and want to collect it, so everywhere I go I keep an eye out for anything Disney. Sometimes a unique opportunity presents itself and you have to take advantage of it. I have been finding a lot of Disney Stores in the malls here in Georgia so that has been great for me.  I love the chance to trade one Vinylmation for another. I was able to get Pluto (see Below) and Aladdin that way..  As I have realized I'm not the only one who likes them and some of the collections have not been there. But I also learned if you ask the cast member at the Disney Store, they might have more for trade in the back, some special ones perhaps...

Have A Magical Day!!!

I love the Robots..

Can you believe someone let this go?

One of my best acquisions, lol

Do you have a Disney collection?

Thanks for stopping by  :-).......

Disney Flashback Friday~~MGM Watertower

Mickey Way up high in the SKY

Going Green never looked so cool~~Circa 2004

I want to thank Sarah @ Magical Days with the Mouse for hosting today's special hop. I know everyone is excited about D23 and I wish I were there but Sarah has put some awesome pictures of all the things she has seen at the Expo.

My picture of what used to be at the back of Disney-MGM Studios on the Backlot Tour has changed but I love anything that has Mickey on it and of course you know I love to garden too and the Topiary is so cool on the MGM water tower. I love this picture because as I was looking up at it, it reminded me of how special this place is and all things are possible. Like many others I share in Walt's  dream and I captured a moment in time.

Thank you for visiting and Have A Magical Day!!!
Don't for get to visit the other flashbacks and tell me your captured moment..

It's Another Disney Flashback: What Time Is it?

Right next to Dumbo we found them

These pictures were taken during Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom, it's about 1 in the morning.

OK, so you know how we hunt down our favorite characters so we can hug, squeeze and get them to sign the autograph book well the extra hours is a great way to do that. We were all so excited to have less people at the park so we could get to every character out there that night and not have to long a wait. Unless it's Mickey, Minnie or Ariel we usually won't wait more than 15-20 minutes. My kids start to time out while we are on the lines and start running ahead to take a peak, not that I blame them. LOL. This was one of the most awesome, fun, memorable nights we had during that week. I remember feeling like a kid that night and running with them to every corner of FantasyLand and saying there's Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Buzz, I mean we could not be stopped. It was so exciting, then we got back to our room and dropped...

Smiles after the autograph

We love to joke around

I want to thank Sarah @ Magical Days with the Mouse,  & don't forget to post your Flashbacks.

Thanks for sharing MY Joy the kids, the pictures and the memories.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and a special shout out to all my great Disney Pals..
Happy Friday  :-)

Blog HOP Thursday-Shine A Light

Today, we are talking about "Shining A Light" and I want to show how the light starts with my family..

In order to shine a light on this subject, I would have to show some of my most treasured memories. That means selecting a few of my pictures because, I have always felt A picture is worth a thousand words. And my family means the world to me, so I wanted to showcase the kids this time and one of our family traditions is posing in certain spots at Disney every year. You get to see how they grow and that is definitely shining a light on them. It also shows how precious children are and being at Disney brings out the wild child in all of us.

I love these pictures of them as we enter Animal Kingdom, they actually came up with it themselves, jumping right up there.. and saying "take our picture"

My 2 are in the first and second, my nieces and nephew are in the last. That year it was our first big family get together at Disney..

Do you see the shoes below the sign?
I wanted to thank Lisa @ Babes in DisneyLand, don't forget to join us with us this week..
And for those returning A Big Thanks for coming back to my blog/memories. http://www.babesindisneylandblog.com/  ;-)

Do you have a special place you go for a picture every-time you visit Disney???
Let me know..

Selena Gomez Live In Concert

100 4197
Huge HUGE crowd!

Last Friday we took our daughter to her first concert, she brought along her cousin another HUGE Selena fan.

We wanted to make it special so it had to be her idol, Selena Gomez. She is a huge FAN of Wizards of Waverly Place on the Disney Channel and luckily her tour was passing through New York. Not to close thought it was 2 1/2 hours away in the middle of nowhere, literally. They build an outdoor amphitheater (Bethel Woods Center for the Arts) where the original Woodstock Concert was in 1969. When we got there we got a chance to look around and truly it is a huge field that goes on for miles.

Selena had 2 really good opening acts, Christina Grimmie, which I had never heard of her but, I'm told her songs are on Radio Disney and she was very good, she had a really great voice. The second was All Star Weekend and they were great too. Then Selena came on and performed for 2 hours. The concert in total was about 3 1/2 hours so we felt it was well worth the long drive, not to mention the smiles and gratitude from my daughter. She really looks up to Selena and just to see her in person really meant the world to her. Our seats were not bad actually right in the middle about 25 rows back. However, my husband and I will need some new ears from all the little girl, tween and teenager girls screaming.

All-Star Weekend performs

Christina Grimmie went on first.

2 of Selena's biggest Fans.

Vintage Disney Tray

It is amazing what you can find out and about, I am always on the look out at thrift stores, garage sales and ebay for old Disney collectibles. I started a couple of years looking for these special kinds of old Disney merchandise and this is one of my latest treasures.  Not only is it a map of Florida and it's cities surrounding Walt Disney World but, it has some movie characters like Tick Tock, Winnie the Pooh and King Louis. Mickey, Goofy and Donald are goofing around on the beach, but Minnie is missing for some reason. It is in really good condition too. I just love it..

I love the detail on this tray.
Do you collect "old" Disney Memorabilia? If so what is your most treasured piece?

Flashback Friday~Donald Duck Is Mean To ME

I want to send a big Thank You to Sarah @ Magical Days with the Mouse because I love this blog hop. I love sharing my blast from the past pictures. For me remembering the kids when they were little and so innocent is a great feeling. Watching their enjoyment over being with the characters makes it all worth it..

This group of pictures describes a journey that my son had to take from embarrassment to laughter. Donald was teasing him, pinching him, messing with his hair and at his age of 5, he took it very personally.  I was standing there, taking pictures, hysterical. I love Donald Duck and I think he is the bomb. So funny and cute.

Got the book out, good so far.
Look at the arms crossed.

The Mayhem begins.
A very angry Little Man.

It's all Smiles in the end. Donald managed to make him laugh.
And that's what it's all about, isn't it?  We go to Disney for the laughs, smiles and memories. Our family goes every year and we do everything, till we drop in our tracks. But the autographs are a must and we hunt them down till we find every character we can.. During this particular evening at Animal Kingdom, Mickey had a line a mile long so we chose Donald first as he had the least people. I know he's not some people's fave but, he's part of the "gang" and he so dang funny...  I wish I had video taped it.

Who's your must get Autograph and Where do you go to get that Autograph??

Thank for hopping IN and commenting....

Sneak Peeks @D23

ABC to Present Sneak Peeks at Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice and Once Upon a Time at the D23 Expo .

I absolutely love Prep and Landing, their first movie was so funny. I think the concept of the movie was a great one, An elite organization getting houses ready for Santa's arrival. I always wondered who helped Santa eat all the cookies. The holiday season is a such a wonderful time of year, Disney movies make it even more special. It is our family's tradition to watch the holiday movies as part of our celebration.

Blog HOP Thursday-Integrity

Just wanted to thank Lisa @ Babes in Disneyland for hosting this week's blog hop.

This week's blog post is something that I have tried to achieve with every post. It is very important to me to follow a few certain rules and integrity is one of them. I have only been blogging for a few months now and it has been a learning experience. I have meet some really great people through the blog and have tried to blog about what I know, Disney. It is a company, that I have always loved and wanted to share all that I know and have learned from my many trips to Walt Disney World. So I thank your for stopping by and your support :-)

Adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.

Wordless Wednesday--Disney BLOG HOP

Just wanted to say Thanks to Deb, she is the best Hostess. Please stop by and sign up to meet new freiends and see some great Disney Pictures. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to comment, we love the comments...

I don't know how she didn't wake him up?
This picture was taken at Saratoga Springs Resort (DVC) and yes, I am famous for taking pictures while people are sleeping. It's usually a very funny moment. My kids move around a lot while they are sleeping as you can see. This was taken after a long night at Magic Kingdom, you know when the extra magic hours keep it open till 2am. We love taking advantage of the fact that everybody leaves around Midnight and we can get on any ride with hardly no wait and keep going and going. It's a late night but totally worth it.

Thank you for visiting, Diane.

Things I have been meaning To Do

Things I have been Meaning to Do--Blog Hop

With the kids home from school, I have definitely fallen behind on many things. I always say to everyone there needs to be 3 of me, at least to do all the things I need to get done everyday. Wife, mom, cook, chauffeur, maid, butler, planner, blogger, entertainer; OK, you get the idea.

1. Since the kids have been home on summer break, I can't seem to keep up on the cleaning/clutter, the toys, books, papers are everywhere. My son is big Nerf fan and the guns and darts are all over. I have found the darts under the couch, in the rabbit pen, in the vacuum cleaning. I have reminded him about the vacuum cleaning power but, so far it hasn't phased him.

2. I would love to catch up on my scrapbooking too. I have hundreds of photos from all our Disney trips and birthdays that are sitting on my dining room table with the colorful paper just waiting. I can sometimes get my daughter to join me and that's when the magic happens. We work together to create that perfect layout.

My Little Princess

3. I would also like to catch up on my reading. I have stack of books and magazines to start. I can usually squeeze in a few minutes here and there to read without being interrupted but not everyday.

I would like to thank Jenn@Disney Babies Blog http://www.disneybabiesblog.com/ for telling me about the her things to do and the blog hop at I'm a Lazy Mom.

What's on your list? I probably could have gone on for days with mine.. LOL.
