Flashback Friday~Mickey/Minnie Get Big Hugs

Welcome to Flashback Friday, & don't forget to join us on the Blog Hop @http://www.magicaldayswiththemouse.com/
I want to thank Sarah for hosting and wish everyone a Happy Friday  :-)

These pictures are in the front entrance area of Animal Kingdom and  from our 2004 trip.  We were so delighted to see Mickey and Minnie together. They were very taken with Abby and She was ready to jump into their arms..

I love this shot of Cinderella's Castle. I thought the birthday cake look was awesome for the celebration of 25 years.

In celebrating the 40th Anniversary coming up this October 1st, I thought we take a look back 15 years ago.

Wordless Wednesday--IT's all about MINNIE MOUSE

Focused on the Magic

Thank You again Debs for hosting each week @http://www.focusedonthemagic.com/
Sign up And please leave comments as you visit we love to hear from YOU!!!!

This is a great theme but, a very hard one because over  the years we have gotten so many character shots both by themselves and with us. It is truly one of my most favorite parts of going to the parks. If you have kids you know the joy that come into their eyes when they see Mickey or Minnie for the First time.. I know I welled up.. All I wanted was to see Mickey and that's not just when I was a kid, that's every year. lol.

But it's all about Minnie today.

And after a day of Minnie it was time to capture it, we couldn't believe this meeting!
Thanks for stopping by on my Minnie Mouse Picture Party...

Major League BaseBall and Star Wars with The Force Does Good

MLB helps to Fight Cancer

Since, you know I'm a huge Star Wars FAN, I thought this was so interesting that all these groups could get together for one cause that I had to write about it. The fight against cancer is an important one and any awareness is huge. I have often been supportive of the Stand Up 2 Cancer organization. But, It was so cool to see all the people (both famous and not so famous) together at the games getting involved.  Check out all the websites, info, pictures and videos..

Check out my First Part to this Article@Jedi Mouseketeer

On September 13th, the New York Mets was one of the stops for Star Wars characters to make a difference. Chewbacca, Darth Vader and some Stormtroopers helped promote a good cause while the Fans got to enjoy some baseball too.

There are away games, and then there are "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away" games. You will find both of them this month around Major League Baseball.
In celebration of this month's release of "Star Wars: The Complete Saga" on Blu-ray, nearly half of the 30 clubs scheduled a Star Wars Night in September as a way to "Use the Force for Good" and raise funds for Stand Up To Cancer.
Lucasfilm, MLB, Stand Up To Cancer, eBay and celebrities came together to make it happen. The Giants, Tigers and Mets were the first clubs to host their events, and next up are the Dodgers, Braves and Athletics on Friday.

"Lucasfilm joining with eBay, Major League Baseball and a wonderful group of actors is an amazing force for good being brought to bear in Stand Up To Cancer's fight against this disease, and we are profoundly grateful," SU2C co-founder Sue Schwartz said. "With one in two men and one in three women diagnosed in their lifetimes, cancer affects us all. SU2C's mission is to persuade each and every person to support the scientists working to end cancer, and this initiative gives legions of 'Star Wars' fans fun and easy ways to do that."

"It's the perfect mixture: Baseball, Lucas and 'Star Wars.' You can't get any better than that," said Mets pitcher R.A. Dickey, who owns an authentic Darth Vader costume and is considered baseball's resident expert on the topic. "That's like a utopia for me. Obviously, it's two fantastic institutions getting together and using the synergies they both had, and using that platform for good. That's 'Star Wars,' basically."
The special events offer "Star Wars" themed ticket packages with a portion of proceeds benefitting SU2C. Most packages include appearances by the movie franchise's costumed characters, VIP fan photo ops, giveaways and the "Star Wars" Stand Up To Cancer exclusive T-shirts.
Since its launch, Stand Up To Cancer has grown significantly with support from players, fans and all 30 MLB clubs. SU2C raises funds to accelerate the pace of groundbreaking translational research that can get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives, and it has grown significantly with support from players, fans and all 30 MLB clubs. MLB was a founding donor to Stand Up To Cancer in 2008, and has donated more than $30 million since its inception.
For All you West Coast Fans:
At Dodger Stadium, it actually will be their third annual Star Wars Night -- and it will be bigger than ever. The club noted that it makes for some amazing ballpark music -- for those "scoring" along. They invited their fans to a special intergalactic edition of Autograph Alley, with appearances by R2-D2, Darth Vader, Obi Wan Kenobi, Yoda and many more.
"We are thrilled to be using the launch of 'Star Wars: The Complete Saga' on Blu-ray as a call to action for our fans to Use the Force for Good," said Kayleen Walters, senior director of marketing at Lucasfilm. "We are happy to use the power of 'Star Wars' to support this noble cause."
The SU2C campaign launched on Thursday with a video featuring celebrity "Star Wars" enthusiasts encouraging fans to "Use the Force for Good" and join Lucasfilm in donating. SU2C ambassadors Aziz Ansari, Zach Galifianakis, Bill Hader, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Jaime King, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg and Emma Stone -- along with "Star Wars" alum Samuel L. Jackson -- will each participate as they recreate classic "Star Wars" scenes to raise awareness for cancer research. The all-star video tribute appears on the "Star Wars" YouTube channel.
Also, eBay is conducting a week-long auction for unique and special "Star Wars" items. Included is a "Star Wars" edition 2012 Volkswagen Passat and a once-in-a-lifetime experience -- dinner with prominent Bay Area filmmakers George Lucas, Chris Columbus, Francis Ford Coppola, Philip Kaufman and John Lasseter. All charity auctions will begin at 7 p.m. ET Friday.

"Star Wars: The Complete Saga" on Blu-ray unites all six episodes together for the first time in HD and pure digital sound, the best collection to date. It features more than 40 hours of special features, including all-new content created exclusively for this release.

Wordless Wednesday--BLOG HOP Disney Architecture

Focused on the Magic

I want to thank Debs @http://www.focusedonthemagic.com/ for hosting again ;-)

This week's WW Hop  is about the beautiful Architecture at Walt Disney World. Just look in any direction and you will see something spectacular. Like the Tower of Terror for instance, that building truly amazes me, both inside and out. I could just tour the inside, never-mind the ride itself. lol.

This is a classic postcard from 2003

SO Scary

I love listening to the screams when the doors open, lol

Thanks for stopping by:)

Tiggerific TUESDAY Blog Hop~A Very Unique Disney Sign @ Disney's Hilton Head

I want to thank Jodi for hosting and please join the hop with us  http://www.magicalmouseschoolhouse.com/search/label/blog%20hop and

Our trip trip to Disney's Hilton Head Resort in SC is like a homecoming because that is how you are greeted from the moment you get to the gate to enter the parking lot. Cast members are very welcoming to all the guests and truly do make the experience one to remember. Since becoming members in Disney Vacation Club in 1998, our home resort has been one of our favorites. We love the beach and all the outdoor life activities you can give us.

This boardwalk is part of the fun because, not only can you fish and go crabbing from it, the little ones can run back and forth on it. That has become a tradition with my two, it seems to go on for miles and they can't resist. Beautiful birds, especially cranes have always loved this area too. One reason they love to hang out on the boardwalk is the hope for some leftovers from the fishing, crabbing or kids lunch they can get. lol.

It amazes me how much has changed when I look at this unique sign. This sign has definitely grown over the years telling everyone how the DVC family has gotten bigger.  It also tells you the miles to each DVC resort from Hilton Head including all in Florida, California and Hawaii. And another great thing is you don't have to be DVC to stay at these resorts, I can speak from personal experience on this one. Our first stay there, I booked over the internet because it sounded like an awesome place and I wanted to see what the benefits were all about. All the great things we had experienced on that trip, we wanted to experience year after year. We feel very fortunate to have become a part of this.

What it looked like in 2003

Birds are often a part of the landscape

The Marsh, there be crabs in there!! Get the net.

Flashback Friday~~ Very Cute Pluto Pics at Animal Kingdom

I want to thank Sarah @http://www.magicaldayswiththemouse.com/ for hosting. Hope your having a happy Friday.

This Flashback goes back to the year 2003 and our March trip to Walt Disney World. My kids were just starting to get into the autographs and finding all the characters we could. Abby was 4 and Liam was 2, so their reactions both to the characters and from the characters were priceless. They loved hugging them and talking to them, even if they didn't answer back, the gestures said it all. And Pluto is not easy to find, but we did in Animal Kingdom.

A bunch of the characters were at Rafiki's Planet Watch Area. Sometimes we skip the train ride out to Rafiki's because we are usually exhausted by this point and feel like it a part of the park we can skip. This time we were glad we didn't. There is some really great stuff to see while on the train, like we saw some of the places the animals are kept at night, the kids loved that. The train ride itself is great and learning a little about the Earth is an added bonus at Rafiki's.

When we found Pluto, he is one of my favorites, his cute, adorable antics made us laugh all day. Pluto certainly took a liking to Liam and I'm glad he wasn't afraid well Dad was there for support too. While I'm taking the pictures, I can really see the interaction from another point of view, kind of standing back and capturing all the magic.

Pluto is so cute, Nose to Nose

He loves to goof around, no pun intended

Let me pinch that cheek

See Pocahontas to the left, I know she thinking I have to get over there~autographs

Thank for visiting again and I hope you have a Magical Weekend  :-)

Wordless Wednesday--Disney BLOG HOP Starring Goofy, Italy & A Map

Focused on the Magic

I want to thank Debs @ http://www.focusedonthemagic.com/ for hosting and if your returning to our Hop welcome back and if this is your first, welcome to the fun :-)

My Disney Character pictures today are of my kids enjoying and meeting the different characters around Walt Disney World and one very curious boy trying to plan out our strategy for getting around the Magic Kingdom.
While we were going around the World Showcase in Epcot, Italy is one of our favorite stops and just at that moment some of the actors were out. Abby went right over, thinking I will get an autograph from you too and he gave her the red flower. My son Liam, grabs a bunch of maps everytime we enter the parks, he loves reading them and they are quite colorful. The maps are such great reminders of all the fun we have had in the parks, especially when we get home.

Awesome Smile!

Sorry this was a bit blurry, he's on the roof in Italy

I love the architecture.

I'm not getting to close..

How do I read this?
Thanks for stopping by :-)

The Phineas and Ferb Giveaway

Recently, I won a giveaway at Magical Days with The Mouse and  I want to thank Sarah and share with you what I won. My prize was the Phineas and Ferb Soundtrack from their new Disney Channel Movie.

But, what I didn't know was she included a little something special with my prize and I could not have been more surprised.  You see I was pretty bummed I didn't get to go to D23 this year and couldn't wait to read about everyone's experiences there. Well, I wasn't disappointed with the pictures and stories they were great. So back to the prize, Sarah had put in the envelope a D23 Fan from the expo.

I was thrilled to have something from the D23 Expo and I wanted to say a big Thank You to Sarah for doing that. It was that little something that someone did that can really make your day..
