The Disney Fantasy Comes to New York

I was so excited to learn that the Disney Fantasy was stopping in New York at the beginning of March on it's way from Germany to Port Canaveral, Florida.  It was a huge event for everyone here in the Big Apple to get the 1st glimpse of the massive ship on her Maiden Voyage.

As it got closer to the day she was to arrive, I found out it was due February 28th, I wanted to go down to Pier 88 where it was docked right near the Intrepid Museum and see how big it was. My dream was they would let me board it and see the whole ship, take pictures and blog about it of course. But, since I am a busy mom of 2, I sent Dad to go check it out instead and see how close he could get. He was of course ready to take the challenge and the day after the Fantasy arrived he was there with his camera. He got some really awesome pictures that I want to share..

Building on the classic style of her sister ship, the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy™ is the regal fourth cruise liner in the expanding Disney Cruise Line fleet. This 130,000-ton vessel offers:

  • 14 towering decks
  • 1,250 staterooms
  • The capacity to comfortably accommodate 4,000 passengers—along with the over 1,450 Cast and Crew Members who tend to the needs of every cruise Guest each day
  •  Total ship length of 1,115 feet and a maximum width of 125 feet

Building on the classic style of the previous ships, the Disney Magic, the Disney Wonder and the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy is a majestic sailing vessel where early 20th-century design—recalling the golden age of cruising—meets state-of-the-art technology. The cruise liner is designed with families in mind, combining sleek style and convenient facilities with splashes of Disney magic.

Way Up Top

The magnificent 3-deck atrium lobby on the Disney Fantasy is reminiscent of grand ocean liners of the Golden Age. Art Nouveau-inspired details and patterns in hues of vibrant blue, green, pink and gold lend to the sophistication.

I hope you have enjoyed this intro to the Disney Fantasy and I will be booking my cruise soon. This luxury liner is definitely on my vacation list.

The pictures  to me say it all.

Thanks for Stopping by and Have a Magical Cruising Day ;-)
