Great Treasures of Walt Disney Presented by D23

D23 First Look: Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives Merchandise

06.28.12 – Check out this eclectic gathering of D23 Presents Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives merchandise that will be available at the Ronald Regain Presidential Library & Museum beginning July 6.

After seeing all the great Walt Disney treasures in this collection, I can't wait to get my hands on some. I really wish I could be in California to go to the Ronald Reagan Library to see this event but in the mean time the pins, mugs and other cool memorabilia will have to do as a reminder of how it all started...  A man with a Dream ~ Walt Disney..

D23 Presents Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives is the largest gathering of models, props, costumes, set pieces, and artwork ever curated by the Walt Disney Archives. But what you probably haven’t heard about—until now—is the massive trove of merchandise treasures that will await you at the Museum Store at the Reagan Library. From The Hall of Presidents collectible magnets, on-the-go Walt Disney Archives keychains, and patriotic character pins to Disney Americana apparel and Disney Archives recreations, there is a salute to Disney’s red, white, and blue past for every Disney fan.
Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store at the Reagan Library. Be sure to visit the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives through April 30, 2013 to see the whole collection of merchandise.

The D23 Presents Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives souvenir collectible guide highlights the best of the exhibit with colorful, over-sized photos and nuggets of Disney history. ~This is my favorite of the collection.

A special trip to the STAR WARS Weekends

It was an awesome coincidence that we would be in Florida when the Star Wars weekends were going on. No we didn't plan it, it just sort of came together as we were taking a trip to Florida for another reason. I didn't think we could get there but, the thought was always in the back of my mind. Perhaps we could leave one of the weekend days open to going to Walt Disney World. Being the huge Disney fans we are we said I know it's an hour drive but, lets do it. So we packed up the car and we went.

So glad we did it as we pulled into The Hollywood Studios parking lot to get on the tram, it wasn't to hot or very crowded. As we arrived at the gate and saw all the Star Wars posters and banners, we knew this would be a great day. We loved the cover of the Hollywood Studios guide map dedicated to Star Wars, grabbed a couple and then talked to a cast member about events that day. It was to late to sign up for Jedi Academy but the Carbon Freeze experiment was available. This was surprising because, we were told you needed a reservation. So we got on the line and my husband was very interested in it and got the details. He decided against it even though it sounded so cool to have your likeness frozen in carbonite but, it had to be mailed to you in 3-4 weeks and he didn't want to wait. You know that instead gratification thing. lol.

SO as we ran to get Fast Passes to the Rock n' Roller Coaster, we now had a couple of hours to hit the rest of the rides, trade vinylmations and do a lot of Star Wars shopping after all that's why we came, the stuff to buy. We were not disappointed as we followed the signs to  Darth's Mall, which we had no clue what it was. I was thinking character meet and greet plus shopping. To our surprise it turned out to be a mecca of shopping and the size of a football field in the back of the Studios. It was in a place where no one ever goes. It was directly behind the Rock n' Roller Coaster and next to the Tower of Terror. I loved getting to see the back of the Tower and getting a few pictures too.

We had a great time can't wait for Next year :-) See you there...
Check out the merchandise
Thanks for Stopping BY ;-)

Keepin the Disney Magic Alive

Welcome to those of you joining me from Joanna and her Amazing Technicolor Interwebs and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail Peach.

This month we were asked How do you keep the Disney magic alive when you've still got a TON of days before your next trip? As I thought of many different things to keep the magic alive being that I'm 1,000 miles away from the parks, here are some of the things I do in the time leading up to the trip.

I think First on my list and it has always been the smile on my face when I'm not at the Parks is my Disney Pictures.

As I have done many times before, looking at my pictures from years past keeps me in the spirit especially, when I have let's say a year of time till the next trip. For our family we start planning the next trip the minute we get home from the one that just ended. We talk about what we might have missed and how that particular "to do" moves to the beginning of the list for next time. Like this last trip we couldn't get on the Rock 'n Roller Coaster because the wait was very long and all the Fast Passes were gone, we had gotten other Fast Passes first and said we would take our chances with getting on the Rock 'n Roller Coaster later.

Another thing that keeps us going is the next time "ToDo List" that keeps the spirit alive.  It is so much fun making the next trip list and then we all compare notes to see what we want to do.

Another great way to keep the magic alive is watching all your favorite Disney Movies. Some of our favorites include Cars, Cinderella, Mulan, Home on the Range, Lady and the Tramp and Chicken Little, I could go on and on.. Watching the movies reminds of us of the attractions, parks and characters we have just meet and experienced.

Thanks you for joining me today, Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Tips From the Disney Diva
