Favorite Architectural Find at Disney ~ Expedition Everest

Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Peach. Enjoy the ride as we share our favorite Architectural Find at Disney. This could have been a very hard choice because, there are so many to choose from like the "Tree of Life" or "Cinderella's Castle" but, after a list of many, I decided on Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom Park.

It is 200 feet high and The mountain is made from 1,800 tons of steel and painted with 2,000 gallons of paint. It is the 18th of 20 Mountain themed attractions by Disney. And although sounded like it is, this artificial mountain is not themed after Mount Everest but, a fictional Forbidden Mountain guarded by the Yeti that the Imagineers created especially for this attraction.

Expedition Everest is not only the TALLEST artificial Mountain at Walt Disney World but, also the TALLEST Mountain in Florida!

One ride on Everest takes 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Everest can handle 2,050 riders per hour. The drop is 80 feet long, not to bad.

The Yeti is the largest audio-animatronic ever build by Disney. He's 22 feet Tall.

Folklore has it that a fierce guardian monster protects the Forbidden Mountain.
For years, the Royal Anandapur Tea Company shipped its tea by train through the Forbidden Mountain pass. After a series of mysterious accidents were blamed on the dreaded Yeti monster, the railroad closed. Today, the railway is operating again, thanks to a group of local entrepreneurs—Himalayan Escapes, Tours and Expeditions— who offer curious travelers transportation to the base camp on the scenic mountain.

Have you gone up against the Yeti or Will YOU?
