Highlights from MY First D23 Expo in Anaheim

If I could say one thing about the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California it was Spectacular, Magical and BIG.
I know I said one word but it's too hard, I really had the time of my life. It was everything I expected and more. I learned a lot, not only about Disney and all it's avenues of entertainment but, about the company itself. I always learn something new when I go to an event and meet new people. There was lots to do and lots to see. The exhibitors were many, from Disney Consumer Products, Disney Store, Disney Interactive, Sephora, Jelly Belly, American Tourister, Tervis, H2O and Disney Channel and many more. Way too many to list but, I think you get the idea. I found that planning my day before I got there was very helpful, the schedule was online and there was "an app for that". The one thing I did not expect is that I would run out of time each day, yes it opened at 9am and went til 7pm but for a crazed Disney Fan it still was not enough to see it all.

One thing, I really loved was volunteering to help boys and girls club and the school kids of LA get some snacks and some art supplies. We were able to volunteer right at the expo in the Disney VoluntEAR booth, so cool.

Another great thing was checking out all the cool Disney themed merchandise to take home and yes I shopped a lot. I knew there was going to be treasures only at D23 and I was right. Here are some soaps from H2O + that are very special and I got a few to take home.

When I saw this bag I knew I had to get it. Exclusive from American Tourister were the D23 Mickey and Minnie travel bags. I got the Minnie tote with the D23 logo on it.
There were carry-on sizes too.

Another favorite of mine was there, Jelly Belly that included themed Disney Character jelly bean bags. Princess, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and the Villains were all represented.

plus this cool giveaway

The Hallmark Store was also there and they had the cutest Sorcerer Mickey itty bitty doll. So cute and on the bottom of him he says D23 exclusive. There was also the new Cinderella Castle Keepsake Ornament for the holidays there for sale and it plays When you Wish Upon A Star. pictured here next to Mickey.

Huffy Bikes also had an exclusive limited edition that I wish I could have gotten. They had a Mickey Cruiser and Minnie Cruiser for $599 each delivered in a big box. "Keep it as a keepsake or ride them", the sales guy said.

And lastly Tervis, my favorite cups were there selling exclusive Disney and  D23 cups. They are so durable and I love all the styles at the expo. Every character was available -
Very Magical Soaps

I guess I already have a plan for 2015, that will be when the D23 Expo returns.

I would be happy to answer any questions I haven't covered, there was a lot to cover in 3 days so ask away.  Have a Magical Day !!

A 2.3 miler at the D23 Expo ~ A Special runDisney Event

I would like to welcome my hubby and thank him for this great blog post on the runDisney-D23 event. You see while I was preparing for the D23 Expo in California, we received an email that there was going to be a very special run on the first morning of the expo and I was very excited for both of us to do. Well turns out I didn't get my RSVP to them in time and he did. At first, I was disappointed and little jealous but, as time went on and the start time and distance were announced I was kinda glad I didn't get in. I was prepared to cover this expo and I was very excited about that so, I thought at least one of got to do it and that was great. I thought he could share his once in lifetime experience and I didn't have to get up at 4am, lol.. So I hope you enjoy this adventure with runDisney and Bill Maguire @wfmaguire on twitter.

This year at the third D23 Expo, runDisney opened the event with the D2.3 fun run for a select number of D23 members; I was lucky enough to be one of the fifty members selected for the run. We met at the Anaheim Convention center at 5:30 for a 6:00 am start. We were given an awesome limited edition D23 / runDisney tech shirt and once everyone was ready our celebrity host came to see us off. We had Sorcerer Mickey at the starting line! The run started and we headed for California Adventure for the main part of our run. I'm REALLY glad they use the run/walk method! It was a bit hot and slightly humid (nothing like Florida thankfully). We ran through Radiator Springs, around Paradise Pier and California Screamin' before heading back to the convention center.  Sorcerer Mickey was waiting for us at the finish line, as was a really LARGE crowd waiting to get into the Expo.  We all got a great gift for finishing the run, a runDisney Vinylmation with a D23 medal and a runDisney bag!

After a great group photo I had to head back to the Disneyland Hotel for a much needed shower before hitting the Expo floor with the family.  My next runDisney challenge is the Tower of Terror 10 miler at Disney's Hollywood Studios in early October.  If you have not tried a runDisney event I can not encourage you enough!  They are the nicest people and our run was so well organized. Please take a look at runDisney

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment!

Back to School with Driscoll Berries - Breakfast Pizza Recipe and more

With the start of school here in the southeast, we are already in the swing of eating a good breakfast. I know that it makes a great difference when you eat breakfast or not. In the morning we are a little grumpy especially, when we are getting used to the school schedule again. So finding a way to make breakfast fun with different takes on other foods like pizza is a great way to get my kids to eat their breakfast.

Prep Time:10 minutes
Cook Time:4 to 5 minutes
Servings: 4

Berry Breakfast Pizza

Pizza for breakfast? Your kids will love it! Katie Workman, author of The Mom 100 Cookbook, developed this recipe using English muffins as your crust and cream cheese as the base. Thinly sliced strawberries can then be added as the "pepperoni" and blueberries, the "olives". Top with shredded coconut as your "mozzarella" and you're set.

And some Orange Juice with Banana, my kids love it. If I can find a way to sneak in more fruits and veggies, I will -lol.

  • 4 whole wheat English muffins, split
  • 2 cups Driscoll's Raspberries
  • 6 tablespoons softened regular or reduced fat cream cheese
  • 2 cups Driscoll's Strawberries, hulled and cut crosswise into circles
  • 2 cups Driscoll's Blueberries
  • 1/4 cup shredded sweetened coconut (optional)
  1. Using the toaster or a preheated oven, toast the four English muffin halves until crunchy.
  2. Meanwhile, mash the raspberries with a fork in a small bowl. Bring cream cheese to room temperature. Add cream cheese to the bowl of raspberries and mix until spread becomes consistent.
  3. Evenly spread the raspberry cream cheese over the four halves. Distribute the strawberries and blueberries over the spread, and sprinkle on the coconut if desired.
and for another great drink in the morning try a Raspberry OAT Smoothie

Disney Infinity Releases New Toy Box Worlds

At the D23 Expo earlier this month, the Disney Infinity team announced that one of the game's Toy Boxes available for download would be a re-creation of Disneyland. The game launched on Sunday, and the “Happiest Place” Disneyland –themed Toy Box is one of five themed Toy Boxes available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U players.

Players can download the new Toy Boxes for free by selecting "Toy Box" from the Disney Infinity Main Menu and then select "Toy Box Share" and "Disney's Toy Boxes." Once there they will see a list of all the featured Toy Boxes and can choose one to download. They will be able to come back every week for new Toy Boxes. Players should also let us know what they want to see because Disney Infinity developers will soon begin creating content based on player suggestions.

Here are the first five free Toy Boxes available now for download:

·         Wonderland Maze – Fall down the rabbit hole and fight through this Alice in Wonderland maze. Take on obstacles and enemies at every turn. click here

·         Medieval Arena - On guard! Transport to the Middle Ages and joust opponents on horseback -- or atop an elephant. click here

·         Tron Vs. Sugar Rush - Tron and Wreck-It Ralph collide! Challenge friends on a high speed race through The Grid and Sugar Rush. click here

·         Happiest Place - The Happiest Toy Box on Earth! Experience the magic of this Disneyland recreation shown at the D23 Expo. click here

·         Floating Castle – Soar high above and take in the view! Rail grind up into a Floating Castle and battle friends for the throne in this royal Toy Box. click here

As a refresher, Disney Infinity’s Toy Box is a combination of Disney-created and user-generated content, which is a wide-open space that gives players free range to create entire levels or worlds of their own. Players can upload their creation, onto Disney’s server and Disney will curate and release the best ones so all gamers can experience the magic.

A big Thanks to Disney Interactive for the info and pics :-) I'm still playing this from the moment we got it. The worlds we created are amazing and I couldn't wait to download this re-creation of Disneyland since we first saw it at D23 Expo. Enjoy. which one is your favorite ?

I was given 3 products to try for my skin type (combo) and here they are first the "Clear Skin Cleanser". It was fresh and clean smelling with a slight fragrance nothing overbearing. I also found a little went a long way. It left my skin feeling very clean. Next, "Oil-free Grapefruit Cream " it has a very lightweight feel, with a little fruity smell. It had a non-greasy feel and helped control my oily skin. And finally the "Pumpkin Renew Cream" had a light pumpkin smell, which I loved and a light texture feel that was not greasy, great to use at night.
This is the giveaway
