My Best Halloween Memory at Disney

Welcome to the first stop aboard the Magical Blogorail Peach. Enjoy the ride as I share "My Best Halloween Memory at Walt Disney World".

It's at this time of year that is especially fun and special to me because, it's when the my favorite holiday is almost here. Halloween memories at Walt Disney World are so amazing. They really know how to throw a party and with the incredible decorations to go with it. One thing that gives me joy is the memories of The Mickey Not So Scary Halloween Party. This party is one of the years best and it is usually at this time of year when families travel to Disney to go to this party. When I went to it, it was a great night, we stayed till the very end, ate lots of candy and saw one of the best Disney Parades - (Mickey's Boo-to-You) - I have ever seen. The characters are all dressed in their Halloween Best and the Fireworks are spectacular. They are some of the best I seen all year. I love the way everyone dresses up and has so much fun at this party. I think one of my other favorite things is that there are only so many people in the park and we could ride all our favorite attractions, over and over. For us riding Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain over and over is a treat. You should see us running back to get on the line at the end of the night especially just to get on it one more time. lol.

This was one of my favorite parts -

As you venture onto Main Street, U.S.A.  you might even meet a barbershop quartet of dead cowboys who sing songs in the style of the Dapper Dans. They like "axing" Guests questions and answering with puns as part of their "dead pan" humor.

Don't forget to go to Trick-Or-Treat Stations

Guests of all ages are also welcome to trick-or-treat throughout the park at designated treat stations and special treat trails – pathways that offer multiple candy stops along the way. This year, more than 220 tons of candy are on order, so be sure to pick up a complimentary trick-or-treat bag on your way into the park.

Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is The Disney Kids.

Here is the map of our Magical Blogorail should you happen to have to make a stop along the way and want to reboard:

I am so excited that the Chase Lounge is back at Food and Wine this year and it sounds better than ever. Some new things to know are it's in a different location, now in the American Adventure Pavilion, where last year it was in the festival center. Also this year something I am very excited about are the charging stations inside the lounge.  This is great for me because, that is one the I need to do, as someone who takes lots of pics, tweets and talks, my phone always dies while at the Disney Parks. So I thank you Chase for having the lounge available to it's customers, we really appreciate the great customer service and appreciation. A Night with Ocean Spray at the Food & Wine Festival Inside Epcot

Since, It's almost time for the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, I thought I would take a stroll down the Cranberry Lane from last years festivities at the Bog.
Cranberry and Sea Salt Cured Wild Salmon
I was very excited when I received an invite from Ocean Spray to be their guest and sample some cuisine and drinks featuring cranberries. This night would also be very exciting because, it included being able to get right into the cranberry bog located at Epcot, a little bit behind Spaceship Earth. You see I have always been a fan of the cranberry since I was little and saw them in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It was the bright red color and wondering what makes them float like that? All questions were answered that night.

The Fall is a great time of year. Not only is it the right time to harvest the cranberries, but it is the start of the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, which I am a very big fan of too.  I love to include some of my favorite tastes and recipes on my blog and Ocean Spray's private cocktail party did not disappoint. As I entered into the private area for Ocean Spray guests, and I could sample the 4 Cranberry inspired cocktails.

The Cranberry Bomber was my favorite

Pour over ice and fill with cola. Stir and add honey.

This was just one of my favorites the other was of course the Cape Codder, blending Cranberry juice cocktail, Vodka and lemon juice all poured over ice.

Then we had some really great appetizers and they all looked so delicious it was hard to choose a favorite. If you look at the menu above, you can see they all sounded/looked scrumptious and I tried them all just to see how the cranberry flavor combined with the other foods. As I looked at the variety of uses for cranberries and thought this is truly a very versatile ingredient.

The two I loved the best and were surprising to me that the combinations worked were Cranberry Marinated Gold Beets and the Craisins Infused Five Spice Char Kobe Beef.

The Beets were blended with the right amount of cranberries giving them a sweet and crisp with a little tart undertone.
The Kobe Beef was marinated perfectly, very tender. The cranberry flavor gave a slightly tart taste that was also combined with the sweet smokey flavor of the corn. I couldn't get enough of either of these dishes.

After drinks and great appetizers we were invited to go into the bog. So now I have to put on the waders, which was amusing and funny to watch.

This is just Part 1 to my night with Ocean Spray at Food and Wine Festival, Next I get in the Cranberry Bog! That was so cool to do ;-)

Thor: The Dark World - TV Spot "Return of An Avenger"

After seeing this latest  trailer for THOR - The Dark World I am more convinced than ever that I can't wait another minute to see this movie. I love all the additional scenes no matter how small they are including Jane questioning him about his return to Earth. I have put some of the pieces together about plot and get very excited. I think Thor is my favorite Avenger with Iron Man as a way close second.

Please enjoy the trailer if you haven't already seen it, that means you were not watching SHIELD last night.

Once Upon A Time and Once Upon A Time in Wonderland Are Almost Upon Us ! Pics and Info from D23 Expo

My family and I are so excited that it's almost time for our favorite show to start again, Once Upon a Time. We'll be glued to the TV at 8:00 pm on 9/29!  A month ago we had the chance at the D23 Expo to sit in for the "Once Upon A Time" panel with creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. The panel was hosted by D23's own Jeffrey Epstein. This was one of our favorite panels, Eddie and Adam were fantastic, they really engaged with the audience and were very funny. The also gave us a 19 minute preview of Once Upon A Time in Wonderland!  The show looks amazing, I loved the White Rabbit and his rose colored glasses. The show takes place in Victorian England and does not follow the books or adaptations exactly, which really adds to the show and definitely gave us the feeling that we are in for a wild ride once the show premiers at 8:00 pm on 10/10.  Alice is definitely not a timid little girl in this version of Wonderland. After the preview, you get to see her in a role of a really strong heroine. Also, in the preview we see that she has been committed to a mental facility by her father because, no one believes her strange tales of this place called "Wonderland". She also falls in love and can fight really well, this Alice has a lot of story to tell.

During the session they discussed how Once Upon A Time differs from another of our favorite shows, Lost. While Lost focused on Redemption and Survival, Once Upon A Time focuses on Hope and Family. Another thing that was discussed by the creators was there are some very strong female leading characters (Snow, Belle, Regina and Emma).  It's rare to see a damsel in distress waiting for her white knight on this show; odds are she'll grab a weapon and save herself (and sometimes said Knight along the way)!

Eddy and Adam finished up the panel by shaking hands and signing autographs for a few audience members. My son is a huge OUAT fan and he got Adam's autograph first then Adam made sure Eddy signed our son's book (He's 11 and was much smaller than most of the autograph seekers).  It was a great session and as I said one of our favorites. We can't wait for this show to start and then we'll be off to "Neverland" with our favorite characters once again. I was very excited to hear that we will be in Neverland for a while. It sounds like a very interesting story line, not what you would expect. I wanted more scoop but, they didn't give to much away. lol.

Thanks for stopping by :-)

Which character is your favorite and why on OUAT?
And will you be watching OUAT in Wonderland?

Disney's "INTO THE WOODS" Ventures Into Production

Film to Feature Songs from the Award-Winning Stage Show,
Plus Brand-New Song by Stephen Sondheim
BURBANK, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2013) – Disney’s “Into the Woods” kicked off production last week, featuring an award-winning production team and all-star ensemble cast. Rob Marshall, the talented filmmaker behind the Academy Award®-winning musical “Chicago” and Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” helms the film, which is based on the Tony®-winning original musical by James Lapine, who also penned the screenplay, and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, who provides the music and lyrics—including an all-new song for the big-screen adaptation. “Into the Woods” is produced by Marshall, John DeLuca, “Wicked” producer Marc Platt and Callum McDougall. Shooting in studio and on location throughout England, the film is slated for a December 25, 2014, holiday release.

“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.

The all-star ensemble cast includes:
·       Meryl Streep (“The Iron Lady,” “The Devil Wears Prada,” “August: Osage County”) portrays the Witch who wishes to reverse a curse so that her beauty may be restored.
·       Emily Blunt (“Looper,” “The Young Victoria,” “The Devil Wears Prada”) is the Baker’s Wife, a childless woman who longs to be a mother.
·       James Corden (Broadway’s “One Man, Two Guvnors,” “The Three Musketeers,” “Gavin & Stacey”) plays the role of the Baker, a hard-working man who desperately wants to start a family.
·       Anna Kendrick (“Pitch Perfect,” “Up in the Air”) fills the shoes of Cinderella, who finds herself on a journey of self-discovery.
·       Chris Pine (“Star Trek Into Darkness,” “Jack Ryan”) portrays Cinderella’s Prince, charming and impossibly handsome, who is on an endless quest to find his bride.
·       Johnny Depp (“Pirates of the Caribbean” films, “The Lone Ranger,” “Sweeney Todd”) steps in as the Wolf, who sets his sights on Little Red Riding Hood.
·       Lilla Crawford (Broadway’s “Annie”) makes her feature-film debut as Little Red Riding Hood, a smart and spunky girl who journeys into the woods, finding unexpected adventures along the way.
·       Daniel Huttlestone (“Les Misérables”) lands the role of Jack, an absentminded and adventurous boy who trades his treasured cow for five magic beans.
·       Tracey Ullman joins the cast as Jack’s Mother, a poor and exasperated mom who is overwhelmed, yet fiercely protective of her son.
·       Christine Baranski (“Mamma Mia!,” “Chicago” “The Good Wife”) takes on the infamous Stepmother who wishes for riches and grandeur; she'll do anything to marry off one of her daughters to a prince.
·       MacKenzie Mauzy (“Brother’s Keeper,” Broadway’s “Next to Normal”) plays Rapunzel, a sheltered young woman who experiences the world beyond her tower for the first time.
·       Billy Magnussen (Broadway’s “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “The East”) is the dashing and eager Prince who courts Rapunzel.

Traveling the Culinary World at Food & Wine Festival 2013

This year I can't wait to go to the 2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival! With 25 different marketplaces to visit and get a sample of the each country's cuisine, for this foodie it's a great place to taste (and drink) around the world.

A little reminiscence from last year -
Epcot ~ 2012 International Food and Wine Festival

As we went around country to country at the International Food & Wine Festival this year, I have to say there was a lot to choose from. With 30 different booths to choose from and culinary classes too, this was the place for Food Lovers to be. I do consider each country with an open mind and I wanted to try many of the dishes I had read about including the Lobster and Seafood Fisherman's Pie in Ireland.  This combination of Seafood including one of my favorites "lobster". It was creamy and delicious. It was just the right size as were all of the dishes because, if you are going to travel the culinary world better eat small so you can try them all.

Another of my favorites was in Canada, where we tried the Famous Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup. I had eaten at the Canadian Pavilion at "Le Cellier" before but, had never ordered this soup even though it was talked about being the best soup anyone had ever had. When the festival was coming around I put it on my list and I was not disappointed. It had the right amount of cheesy goodness not to over bearing yet, it was very creamy. It was a great choice.
