I Just Loved Our #MagicBands Experience

While planning our next trip to Walt Disney World, a magical thing was now included - Magic Bands. This new feature was to enhance our trip and boy did it ever. With quicker ways to get on the rides we love and all we had to do is choose, I was in. It was so easy compared to our past experiences. We are Annual Passholders so we have always had to carry our cards. One of the things I didn't like about the cards was getting them out to enter the park and then getting them out to get Fast Passes at every ride/attraction. I found myself fumbling to find everyone's and then collected them all back once we used them. I was the holder of the Passes and I used a clear container to carry them but, even that wasn't simple.

What I love about the new system is now there are FassPass+ scanners at every ride and I was amazed even ones that are normally fast movers have it. And surprising to me was when I saw one at the American Idol Experience a while back, like I said they all have them now. I don't consider American Idol high traffic or long waits, it's not on my top 10 when I go to Hollywood Studios, we usually go when we have people visiting and they want to see it.

On this most recent trip to the Magic Kingdom we were able to schedule the ride we wanted on our My Disney Experience App just walking down Main Street and walla - we booked a FP+ time for Pirates of The Caribbean, one of our faves. What I really liked about the new system with our MagicBands was the easiness of it. I mean no searching for passes, no more extras things to carry and look for, lose or anything else. I loved just walking up, hold up the bracelet and get the green go ahead. It's just like the old FP in the fact that you have your window of time to get there or else. LOL.

Check it out in the pics - It literally takes a couple of seconds to register you and your in.

I love the box they come in

It worked the same way when we were getting into our rooms, it took a few seconds of holding. I think you have to be patient with them, it's not an instant click and open sesame you have to hold your MagicBand there for a few.

You also get to choose your color from a variety for showing your DisneySide ;-) I chose pink.

Thanks for stopping by and If you have tried them,
What do you think ?
Are you looking forward to using them on your next Walt Disney World Vacation?

  1. While using the bands to get into the hotel, charging, and getting around the parks was easy, the whole experience scheduling our Fastpasses pretrip was a nightmare. It's a long story so you'll have to read our post about it. Hopefully it was just a glitch and it will be much easier next time.

  2. Yay! Someone who loved MagicBands as much as I did! We had zero issues during Christmas week and loved being able to schedule our FastPass+ reservations for the late afternoons when the parks were extremely crowded. I'm hoping they work out all the bugs so that others can experience the MagicBands Magic issue free!

  3. We loved ours as well, we got the bling to go with them :). Can't wait till they allow multiple parks as we like to go to one in the morning and then hit another in the afternoon. It was nice not having to rush to the park just to get a fastpass though.

  6. We have not loved ours. We're three sets in (they insist on giving you a new set each time you check in even though all the old ones still work) and still manage to have glitches every now and then. I'm not a fan of bracelets or watches so wearing the band all day was not fun. Thankfully we still carry the diaper bag so we had somewhere to store them when we weren't wearing them. I'm glad you and your family had a good experience. Hopefully over time they'll work out the glitches. We still have to carry our id and annual passes for discounts so even that wasn't a bonus for us.

  9. I'm sorry to hear your experience wasn't good, I'm not sure why they keeping giving new bands every time you good, seems like a waste of money. But I guess there are some more bugs to be worked out ;-) Thanks Lin

  14. Thanks Lisa, Yes I agree it's easy walking around with them and I heard it can be a night mare some of the scheduling so I'm sorry you went thru that - the only thing for us was changing the fast pass was a pain. hopefully they will fix it
