Yes Resort Hopping is a Thing!! WDW #Christmas Holiday Recap

As we all know visiting Disney is a magical experience, but during November/December it gets even more magical. The magic begins in early November, the parks are decorated with lights, garland, bulbs, Christmas trees and more Hidden Mickeys. Yes, even in these holiday decorations you can find Hidden Mickeys. LOOK BELOW IN THE POLICE CAR ON THE LEFT SIDE.

From Downtown Disney to Hollywood Studios, there's so much to look at. The smiles are endless from just looking at all the beautiful decorations everywhere.

Speaking of everywhere, I know one of the first places most people go is Disney's Hollywood Studios to see The Osbourne Family Lights. It's on my RUN don't WALK list, lol. The lights actually start going up in late summer and that's how our excitement builds. We noticed it one year, while walking back there the buildings were covered with strands and strands and strands of lights. Awesome right?

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights are on the Streets of America, located only at Hollywood Studios.

  • It is a breathtaking seasonal display featuring millions of glittering lights perfectly synchronized to holiday music.
  • The lights are so extensive you may find it hard to comprehend their magnitude.
  • Entire buildings are blanketed in sheets of multi-colored lights, and thousands more lights form twirling carousels, heavenly angels, and even Santa and his reindeer.
  • Approximately every 10 minutes, the lights dim and then dramatically spring to life — dynamically choreographed to traditional holiday music.
  • Even some snow falls for all who come.
Did You Know: The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights started modestly in Arkansas as a single home’s annual display. Every year, Jennings Osborne and his family set up an elaborate collection of holiday lights and over the years, the collection of lights grew, and grew… and grew! In 1995, the Osborne family decided to share their magic with the world, and Walt Disney World Resort happily offered to become the new permanent home for this exceptional exhibition of holiday cheer.

Visiting Christmas, Florida - Get A Special Holiday Postmark Here

I know there are many great places to visit in Florida, but visiting one I had heard about was on my Christmas list for sure. I know it may not seem like much but, I really like visiting places that are small town America and this does fit right in. This place called Christmas, Florida was a place I had heard about on the local news and it's because they do something sooo special at Christmastime.  It's all about those special touches, during the holidays that make it all worth it, am I right?

And here is the main reason I wanted to go there, it was to get a special Christmas postmark for my letters and packages. The postmark has the town's name on it making the letters very special indeed!  I had heard tons of letters and packages are sent from here just to get the Christmas postmark. Last year they handled over 300,000 pieces of mail from all over the world, just to get that postmark. It sounds like just the place Santa might live and work. Speaking of Santa, you can mail your letters to him from here also.

There are many towns across America that have small town greatness, be sure and visit and see what they're all about. Discover something new and take the kids along, I did and they got to see a place very much into the Christmas Spirit. It made me feel like I was walking down Main Street U.S.A. =)

Thanks & I Hope you had A Very Merry Christmas.

Pixar's "INSIDE OUT" themed Holiday Craft Ornaments

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

A Fantastic Trip Back Into Time - Titanic The Artifact Exhibition

Last night, I went to see Titanic - The Artifact Exhibition here in Orlando. It is located on International Drive where most of the fun stuff is outside of the theme parks. I wasn't expecting it to be what it was. From the outside it looks small but, do not be deceived it's a huge exhibit once inside. We took an hour and 15 minute tour from the beginning to end of the story of Titanic. How and when the ship was built to when the world found out she had sunk the day after the disaster. We got to touch an iceberg, see many actual pieces from the ocean floor that were recovered from the wreck as well as some recreations of things that were on Titanic. Just Amazing!

Our tour was given by Mr. Thomas Andrews the designer of the Titanic and what a tour he gave. It was fun, exciting, and very informative. He gave lots of actual facts and info about the ship and a great history about it's passengers. It was a very educational and eye opening tour as we learned about life aboard the Titanic for its 1st, 2nd and 3rd class passengers.

One thing I learned was that the 2 crew members in the lookout tower the night they hit the iceberg  were up there without binoculars because, the keys were locked away in England and not even on the ship. So they were trained to smell for ice - which I thought was strange how do you smell for ice? But, I found out ice was made of sulfur and that you can smell it a few miles away.  Wow, right? So they thought they would have time to get out of the way using this method.

Also, The Titanic had 4 smokestacks but, only 3 were actually real and worked. They thought it would look better with four.

It was also the first ship to have a pool, not very big about 6 ft deep and 18 feet long. The women could use it from 11am to 12 noon, giving the men the other 23 hours. No comment to that fact.

There were many nationalities represented on Titanic, therefore many different languages were spoken on board. This became a problem since many of them did not speak or read English which was critical for evacuation instructions.

The Grand Staircase was made of Gold and Oak - to make it look and feel spectacular. Which I think even the replica does. It was an amazing sight with light coming through the gigantic glass dome above. I also got to climb the stairs for a pic opp, can I just say wowza moment.

Ten course meals were served aboard, wow that's a lot of food. Can you imagine How long that took to eat?

Fact Time: DYK - Up until 5 years ago Carnival cruise ships were the same size as the Titanic Ship

And at the end of the tour we got to see an actual piece of the Titanic brought up from the ocean floor - Deck D - Starboard Side. It was so amazing to see such a piece of history.

Dancing Osbourne #Christmas Lights Synchronized to "A Mad Russian's Christmas"

You can stay for hours and just enjoy the music and the light show. I love it and we try to go as often as possible from when it starts in November. And yes look for the Hidden Mickey's they are everywhere.

Playing Disney Infinity with Awesome Nick Fury, Maleficent & Iron Fist

I just got some new DYNAMIC Disney Infinity characters to play with and they are an awesome addition to my collection. Playing these new characters: Nick Fury, Maleficent and Iron Fist was a lot of fun because; they each have such unique individual powers. They are fierce when it comes to fighting and I love the commentary they say as they are fighting and running around the ToyBox.

Tips and Pics - The Gingerbread House at The Grand Floridian Resort

I think what I love about the holiday season is going and seeing some extraordinary things during December. One place I go to often is Walt Disney World because, I get to see amazing Holiday decorations. It doesn't matter which resort you pick they all have something beautiful to see. The Christmas trees, lights, gingerbread houses are all gonna put you in the Ho, Ho, Ho spirit. That's why it's a great time of year to visit and so many locals and travelers come to Florida to see these special decorations.

One really amazing MUST DO is to visit The Grand Floridian resort which hosts the most amazing Gingerbread House in its lobby. Now that I live here, I know how lucky I am to see it every Christmas. So with out further ado I want to share some pics I took of it.

First check out these stats on it.

The Gigantic Gingerbread House at The Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World.

The craftsmanship is amazing. The details in the gingerbread house from the powered sugar roofs to the edible flowers are so magical. I love the miniatures of everything from people to candy canes. And of course some Hidden Mickey's are there too. Take your time checking this house out. Be patient the crowds are always here.

  • The house stands 16 feet high and features 40 window panes

Star Wars Rebels Missions Game #Review

Star Wars - Rebels Missions Game
Race Against Time, Join the Rebels to Fight the Empire For ages 6 & up

Being a huge Star Wars fan I liked this game a lot. I played with my family - my son, daughter and hubby, each of us picking our favorite character from the game. And because we also love the new show Rebels, it was what attracted me to this game. All the characters (Ezra, Sabine, Kanan, Hera, Zeb) from the show have a card in the game and we loved playing as Rebels.  It took a little bit of playtime to understand the rules but, as we went on we understood more about what our mission was.  So Tip one, read the directions carefully.

Holiday Gift Alert - Frozen, Surprise Slides and Pictopia Games Review

Over the weekend my family and I sat down to do something we haven't done in a long while, play some board games. Yes some "old fashion" FAMILY FUN! With electronics banned, this night of fun would go uninterrupted, was exactly what I was thinking. What I really liked was we had all agreed to finally have some fun sitting around together time. I think all families could use it and what better way then to spend time playing some Disney/Frozen themed games. We chose Surprise Slides and Pictopia. Let me tell you more about the blast we had.

A Surprise filled race to the Ice Palace.  For ages 3 and up (2-4) players

When I first saw the outside of the box of Surprise Slides, I was thinking it looked like Chutes and Ladders the game we all played when we were little but, it actually wasn't like that at all. Combining Frozen's theme and characters, Surprise Slides was a ton of fun. In fact, get ready to slide Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff through Arendelle to see who can get to Elsa's Ice Palace first. Slide throughout the snow-covered forest, past snow monster Marshmallow and through the troll's secret glen. There are also some cool shortcuts that go forward or backwards, you never know what your gonna get.

Here's a little about the game and why this would be a great holiday gift for your kids.
One - It's really easy to play, the spinner moves easy. Two - The slides keeps you interested by doing many different things. When it's your turn depending on the color or picture on the spinner - you can go forward, backward or something else.  Three - There are 4 slides tiles, that move. You may have to mix them up, turn them over to change the direction you go in. If you land on a snowflake symbol you could also move in different directions. Pretty interesting, right?  I found the directions easy to follow and my family loved playing. It doesn't take long to play, making it great for kids and very interactive.

If I had to describe this game in one word it's Awesome!
For ages 7 and up (2-4) players. 1,000 questions.

As we answered the questions you advanced on the board and the first one to the castle wins. It was fun to see how much Disney trivia we knew and could remember. It was really exciting to answer trivia questions from classic Disney movies to TV shows currently on Disney Channel. The game includes answer dials used too select answers, they are shaped as Mickey's head which I loved! The game has a lot of different ways to select questions as you will see on the board, it depend on the number you rolled on the dice. This keeps the game very interesting for there are different situations to answering the trivia. Sometimes it was 1, 2, or 3 answers needed for a round. Or it could be just you answering instead of a group of players.

Pictopia stars the entire Disney gang. My family and I really enjoyed it because, it had all kinds of Disney questions. This picture-trivia game has so much trivia about Disney that it will amaze you and sometimes challenge you. You have to try and remember your Disney facts about movies and characters. I liked that you play together but, everyone answers the questions separately to score. The game moves pretty quickly which kept us focused and not bored. Take your time reading the directions, like I said, to understand all the rules.

The game says 7 and up but, I think younger ones will enjoy playing and could answer the questions, you could even do tag teams with this game.

Check out more Fun Games and Puzzles @ Wonder Forge.com

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy.

I was give these games to try and give my opinion on. In no way did this influence my thoughts - all opinions are honest and true. =) Happy Holidays!

Love This Game - #Fantasia: Music Evolved #Review

If you like to have fun showing your dance moves combined with some of the most popular musical hits then this game is for you. Oh and did I mention my favorite part a little Disney Magic thrown in too.

Disney Interactive and Harmonix  announced that “Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved,” a breakthrough musical motion game, is now available at retailers worldwide for a suggested retail price of $59.99 for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and for a suggested retail price of $49.99 for Kinect for Xbox 360 and is rated E10+ by the ESRB.

Developed by Harmonix, critically acclaimed creators of Rock Band and Dance Central and the world’s leading music and motion gaming studio, players become the sorcerer’s newest apprentice, exploring remarkable worlds and unlocking the magic within the music, with Disney Interactive’s “Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved.”

The Cliff Scout
I was very excited when Disney Interactive asked me to review Fantasia: Music Evolved.  The game is exclusive to the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.  It was great to see a game that really pushed the limits of the Xbox Kinect sensor.

Here are the details on the game.

Once, you enter the game you can put your Xbox controller down, it won't be needed again.  The navigation is very simple and intuitive.  The game begins with your training under Yen Sid, the sorcerer from Fantasia who trained Mickey Mouse.  This training takes you through using the various moves of the game.  While you are supposedly doing various spells the motions seem to me to be much more like conducting an orchestra which fits in with the theme of Fantasia.  You will sweep, wave, punch, flick and hold your way through the various spells in this game.  As you train you add stars and the famous moon to the Sorcerers Hat unlocking its full potential.

The game is a mix of Classical, Classic Rock and Modern music and I really enjoyed the blend of them in this game.  An example of each is "Night on Bald Mountain" by Modest Mussorgsky (from the film Fantasia), "Rocket Man" by Elton John and "Royals" by Lorde.  Each training session builds on the one before.  As your training progresses you put moves together to build score multipliers and you also have a goal to complete by the end of each song.  Fantasia Music Evolved at its heart is a rhythm and timing game.  You track various objects and make the appropriate action when they hit the target.  Each of these moves is rewarded with a amazing burst on the screen and the music continues.  Miss your queue and the music falters.  There is no failure and abrupt end to the song but, it is possible to miss your goal for each song and not get as high a score.  One thing I really loved was this game will get your heart rate up and is a decent workout on its own!

Calypso Crab
The settings for the game are also amazing - outer space, under the sea and others are waiting for you to explore in this game.  Another unique feature is the ability to create your own music.  I very much enjoyed playing various clam and oyster shells to create a pretty great drum track!  You can save your musical creations in the game as well as saving and replaying songs.  Fantasia: Music Evolved is a great game that while a bit difficult for young kids is appropriate for all ages. I love the music and movements - they're really impressive. This is a definite must have for any Disney Fan and it would make a great Holiday Gift too.
