With some great food, family and friends our DisneySide party was off to a great start. I love it when we all get together for special occasions but, when it's to show your DisneySide the party is even more special. You see I got to host again this year and I was so happy. I love sharing my DisneySide with everyone and I love to see other share theirs too. What's really cool is everything that I needed for my at home party is included in the kit I got from Disney Parks. From Disney themed plates, cups, napkins, decorations and pencils to laundry detergent provided by some of the awesome sponsors like Wisk and Snuggle. Good thing too since things tend to get very merry here and spills ensue. We also got enjoy some Twinings Tea and create lots of lasting memories with some HP CMYK (create memories you keep) photo paper. They thought of everything to give us for one awesome party.
One of the most amazing things are all the DisneySide games and fun activities to do at the party. We played Disney trivia, which included questions like Mickey Mouse was originally voiced by? Answer - Walt Disney. Another great question was How old is the Magic Kingdom? A - It's gates opened on October 1, 1971 making it 43 years old. Can you name all seven dwarfs from Snow White?
We made a Tree of Life family tree, played DisneySide BINGO and Disney Attraction Matching game, boy that was lots of fun. But I think the favorite of the party was Pin the Smile On Mickey! If I was to describe to you the action from this game and the mood in the room, we never stopped laughing. It was so funny to watch it and play it. It was my take on pin the tale on the donkey but, with a Mickey twist. I blindfolded everyone, both kids and adults (one at a time) then we spun them around and then headed them toward the door where Mickey was pinned. Take your smile and pin. Everyone loved this game not only because it was hysterical to watch everyone get as close as they could to putting on the mouth but seeing how much they enjoyed letting loose and being crazy. No cheating of course, maybe some directional hints. The placement of all the smiles is priceless.
I had lots of different ideas for the food and treats I was serving, keeping in mind I wanted to feature Mickey and pals any way I could. I used the two cookie cutters I got last year that were in the shape of Mickey's head and used my imagination. I included Mickey shaped brownies, cupcakes with mini Oreos and Nilla wafers cookies to make Mickey's ears. I also used the Mickey Cake pan to mold and shape the giant rice crispy treat. Everyone loved that Mickey rice crispy treat! And some Valentine cupcakes with red and white sprinkles because that was our theme. It was a Valentine theme because it was February and who's a more romantic couple than Mickey and Minnie.
It was a great party, I really enjoyed spending time with everyone talking and eating. And everyone left with some goodies too. What I really loved was how everyone enjoyed a fun afternoon of DisneySide games and activities too, you don't get to do that everyday. For me getting to have them over and sharing my DisneySide is just the frosting on the cake.
Disclosure: I received free products in order to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration from Disney Parks and Mom Select. In no way did this influence my opinion. All opinions are my own, thank you.
And Don't forget to share and show your #DisneySide everyday.
