Vanilla Raspberry Tart Recipe #RaspberryDessert

August 11th is National Raspberry Tart Day! #raspberrydessert

Today, I want to share with you something I had the pleasure of creating, my own delicious raspberry tart dessert. I was challenged by the great folks at Driscoll's Berries to create something sweet.  You ask what's the special occasion? We are celebrating National Raspberry Tart Day this August 11th. I also challenge you to celebrate with the tastiest, sweetest and the only brand of raspberries I have every bought, Driscoll's, to make your own tart. Please feel free to make my recipe below or add to it as tarts have a lot of flexibility.

So I went shopping at one of my favorite stores, Whole Foods to get some of the ingredients. The reason for making a tart is they are similar to pies but, with the open top I can add a lot more berries which I did in my recipe. The hardest part was coming up with a name for my new Raspberry tart, LOL.

Vanilla Raspberry Tart
3 containers of Driscoll's Raspberries (6oz each)
1 Package Vanilla Pudding (3.5 oz) - follow directions on package
2 cups whole milk
1 pie crust - Pillsbury brand
1 Dark Chocolate Bar
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon (optional)

Baking Directions:

First, follow the vanilla pudding baking directions on the box. Takes about 20 minutes to cook, then set aside to cool in refrigerator. Cover with plastic wrap so no skin forms on surface of pudding. Then spray Pam in tart pan and gently press pie crust into pan. Fork some holes into crust before baking. Bake about 10-12 minutes at 375 or until golden brown. After pie crust cools completely add vanilla pudding and smooth out. Then add raspberries in a circle on outer edge of pudding and then another layer inside that one with more raspberries. You should have 2 rows of luscious raspberries around entire tart. I also added one more raspberry in the middle of tart and shredded the dark chocolate all over top of tart. Chill for at least an hour before serving. Sprinkle with cinnamon for added bold flavor.
One more tip!
I also bought a special tart pan that came apart into 2 pieces for easy separation after baking!

It was easy and delicious!
