#Orlando MegaCon Fan Days are Not to Be Missed and Here's Why!!

Mega Con Fan Days was so much fun! It is a smaller version of the BIG Mega Con convention here in Orlando, Florida. It a definite must do when in Orlando whether you live her or are visiting. There is so much to see and do, I can't tell you how much there is too see, LOL! You can check out some of my Periscopes from Mega Con below and/or go to https://katch.me/MouseFanDiane for more scopes.

Just to explain what it was all about! It was a brand-new installment from the producers of MegaCon, the Southeast’s largest annual comic book, anime, gaming and multi-media extravaganza. The 2day show debuts at the Orange County Convention Center Nov 21-22 and offered the same fandom and fun of MegaCon with the awesomeness of smaller crowds and lower ticket prices.

MegaCon Fan Days is a family-friendly playground for fans of all ages! The event’s line-up includes autographs, photo ops and panels with celebrity guests; Artist Alley, a ”must experience area” for anyone interested in meeting the comic industry’s rising stars; plus costumed characters and an exhibit hall bursting with 100,000-square-feet of shopping madness. Retailers from across the country sell comics, original artwork, memorabilia, games, toys, t-shirts and a lot more.

The cosplay is many and the vendors have everything from posters, to your favorite retro toys, video games, costumes and hobby peeps that make R2-D2's. Yes, that's right they make R2-D2 for fun and then can range in price from 3-12 grand for one depending on how intricate they are made. I love that part of the convention, seeing them move around and beep it was like being in a Star Wars Movie.

See the VINES below to see what I'm talking about...

The cosplayers were amazing from Star Wars to Marvel to Doctor Who to DC characters, everyone loves to dress up as their favorite show characters. Some were good and some were down right scary. You know how that is at a convention. The food was good and AC was on so all in all it was amazing. The Orlando Convention Center is the perfect place to have it - big enough to spread out and centrally located on International Drive, it's a win win. It was also an amazing opportunity to get some of my Christmas shipping done for everyone, you see my whole family is into comics, gaming and loves to get anything based on those things. So these unique vendors had plenty of Funko-Pops, comic books and statues to choose from. They also had a lot of Disney Merch. which as you know I love buying especially for a bargain. There was a vendor selling thousands of Disney Pins both limited edition and very rare for a great price, under retail value, so I bought a bunch. I love deals and this Mega Con had a bunch. Keep that in mind for next year.

Celebrity guests confirmed to appear on both Saturday and Sunday are:

•       Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter films, Star Wars Rebels)
•       Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings, The Goonies)
•       John Rhys-Davies (Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings)
•       Karen Allen (Indiana Jones)
•       Paul McGann (Doctor Who)
•       Sean Maher (Firefly, Serenity)
•       Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy, Remember the Titans)
•       James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Another favorite of MegaCon attendees is the all-star line-up of comic book guests. Confirmed to appear are Eisner Award-winning writer and illustrator George PĂ©rez (The Avengers, Teen Titans, and Wonder Woman); and creators Jimmy Palmiotti (Harley Quinn, Painkiller Jane), Amanda Conner (Harley Quinn, Power Girl), Cully Hamner (Red, The Question), Mike Perkins (Captain America, Stephen King’s The Stand), Tim Townsend (Uncanny X-Men, Dr. Strange), and Rob Hunter (Suicide Squad, Firestorm).

“MegaCon Fan Days offers a new opportunity for Orlando residents and visitors to celebrate their fandom at a smaller scale event of the same high quality as our annual show,” said MegaCon Show Director Christine Alger.
