She's Been Gone Too Long? Alice #ThroughTheLookingGlass #MovieReview

Out of all the movies I have seen this summer - I would see this one again!!

I was surprised how much I liked it! Yes, it's true! I loved the movie "Alice through The Looking Glass." It was the follow up hit to the first Alice live action movie from Disney. No, I wasn't a big fan but I wanted to give the second one a chance. And here's my thoughts --

One thing I loved was the story was very funny, interesting and had lots of bravery. Know that when you believe in something or some one it's the strongest love there is. When Alice comes back to Wonderland after a bit of a tiff with her mum and townsfolk - she is left with the decision to do what she believes is right or give in to the pressure of what others perceive as is right for her. I will not give away too much if I can help it.

At the beginning of the movie we find Alice as a ship's captain of her father's boat and she is great at it. A very fitting role model for young women, she inspired me from the beginning scene of out getting away from pirates because of her intuition, smarts and bravery.

It is because of her never ending love for Wonderland and the friends she made there, that she is summoned back to help The Hatter. He is in need and she is the only one who can help. On this adventure to help The Mad Hatter she is tested. Her strong friendship with him from the last film is what guides her on a bizarro adventure to save him and a whole lot more. Johnny Depp is exquisite as The Hatter and Mia Wasikowska is a perfect Alice. If I imagine her in real life it's Mia. LOL. All the familiar characters are back - White Queen, Red Queen, Cheshire Cat, Tweddle Dee/Dumb. We also get some background into the 2 Queens childhood and why they are the way they are. You Know Red Queen's famous "Off With Their Heads" there's a reason she is the way she is.

I thought the character of TIME - yes, as a person is perfect. He is funny, serious and well not too bad a villain. I loved this character so much and Sacha Baron Cohen is awesome as this character.  The thing we learn in this film that I think is a great takeaway, Is that we cannot change the past no matter how much we want to, or even in this movie, try to. Rather we must learn from it. We must persevere and no matter who or why someone says we can't do something or even shouldn't do it - learn by Alice's example and say "the hell with it", I'm going to do it! I loved that message in this movie. She is inspiring, as is this movie, go see it.

Thanks to Walt Disney Studios for having me at the screening. Loved it!
